Apple cider solution


Suffering from GERD or just good old reflux can be horrible and frustrating at times.

I’m always looking for great ways to help with acid reflux and make it a much nicer experience eating yummy foods and limiting problems.

Apple cider vinegar is one of those great super fluids that has always been a natural solution that I use. If you have GERD or suffer reflux you can use this daily.

Dosage

Start with a smaller amount and work your way up to 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar (ACV) with a glass of water. The important thing to remember is to sip this, not to slam it back.

I have 1 tsp of ACV with warm water and I add a little honey (to make it easy to deal with the flavour). Having this on rising before I eat any food really helps settle the stomach. I then find my first meal is accepted much easier and the stomach is much happier.

For every other meal, I sip ACV with water during my meal. If you do suffer from reflux, don’t drink any other liquids during your meals. I know, this is really hard to do! But this really makes a big difference so give it a try.

If you don’t want to drink it, add it to salads or for dressing on other foods.

Don’t exceed 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar a day. As with anything, too much can cause side effects.

For those of you that don’t know much about Apple cider vinegar, here are some reasons you might want to add it to your daily routine:

  1. It helps the body maintain a healthy alkaline pH level. Higher acid levels leads to a lack of energy and higher incidences of infection. So if your looking for a natural boost of energy, give this a go.

  2. Creates on overall detoxification effect on the whole body by balancing the body's pH level. Research shows that it can help detoxify the liver and assist with cardiovascular circulation.

  3. As mentioned above, it adds in digestion and is particularly beneficial for people with stomach issues such as GERD, reflux, indigestion and bloating.

  4. Breaks down mucous in the body and cleanses the lymph nodes. Apple cider vinegar can help with the symptoms of allergies because of the ability to breakdown mucous and reduce sinus congestion.

  5. Some studies indicate Apple cider vinegar can help with weight loss as it helps keep you satisfied and gives you that feeling of fullness.
